Concours d' Elegance 2010
"Gathering of the Faithful" show 4 Sept (Sat) at Reston Town Center
Our next event is the "low-key" "Gathering of the Faithful" show on Sept 4, Sat, (Labor Day weekend) under the pavillion at Reston Town Center. This is a fun show featuring the oldie 356s, but all year Porsches are welcome. There is no advance registration for this event, only $5.00 registration the day of the show. Also, this is a "non-competitive" show. There is NO JUDGING of any kind. Just lots of door prizes!! Below are some photos from prior years at Reston. We will start parking cars at 9:00 - and will wrap up by 3:00. We will do DOOR PRIZES around 11:30. Come early and have breakfast at Panera or La Madeline.

WHAT IT CONCOURS?
I think its fair to say the most of us bought our Porsches because we think they are really a very special car, not just some way to get from point A to B. So what is one of the nicest things you can do for such a great car that also makes you feel really good? The right answer is taking part in one of your club's concours or wash & shine events.
Remember that there are many opportunities to win a really great looking trophy because there are quite a few classes. For example, at the Deutsche Marque, our toughest event, there are separate classes for the oldies like 356s, 912s and early 911s & 914s and of course for the newer models. The exact number of classes at our events are kept flexible depending on the expected number of participants.
We also have lower key wash & shine (People's Choice) gatherings. These are often combined with other activities such as a rally or social event such as the Oktoberfest. Also, we will be looking for volunteers who would like to help with the program, especially judging and set-up on the day of events. So come on out and clean up your baby, make some new friends and have a good time. Check the calendar and Concours events schedule below for 2010. - 9:00AM in the skating pavillion at Reston Town Center
A spectacular collection of vintage 356 models are the centerpiece of this show, with later models of all years vying for attention too. You need to be at the Town Center Pavilion at 9:00 AM for the placement of the cars. NO JUDGING, BUT LOTS AND LOTS OF COOL DOOR PRIZES. If you come early drop by La Madelline or Panera for a relaxing brunch and a feast of beautiful Porsches.
