On May 6, 2012, club member Craig Moen and Joe Czackorowski (camera man and video editor ) arrived early at Nottoway Park to capture the cars and the people attending the Deutsch Marque Concours event. It turned out to be a great day with plenty of great cars, interesting people and perfect weather.

In the works is a feature HD video of the event for the PCA Potomac website. While the hours of editing progress, Craig and Zack thought they would share with everyone a short "trailer" of a few of the highlights.

Porsches and Polo is Back!

Porsche of Tysons and PCA Potomac will be returning to the Porsches and Polo series again this year!

Our first event is the inaugural Polo Match this Saturday, May 19^th, and we will be returning July 14^th and September 8^th. The event will be held at Great Meadow (www.greatmeadow.org) in The Plains, Virginia. Gates open at 6PM.

For those who haven’t been, this event a lot of fun, combining Porsches, a beautiful evening in the country, a BBQ, and a big party afterward.

Oh yes, and there are some horses and a Polo Matches thrown in as well.

Great Meadow Wounded Warriors Tribute Car Show

GREAT MEADOW WOUNDED WARRIORS TRIBUTE CAR SHOW on May 27th

An organization called “Beethoven Found” is holding a tribute to our “Wounded Warriors” on Sunday, May 27^th at 10AM. The location is Great Meadow , Va. Go to Great Meadow for directions and more info. There will be free food & drink lots of music and the “Flying Circus” and other entertainment. There is also a CAR SHOW and if you show up at Gate 1, around 10 am in either a “Classic” car or a “special” car you will be directed to the car show parking area. Since all Porsches are “Special”, they can be pat of the car show even if they are not “oldies”. T Gate 1 you will be given up to 4 tickets FREE to the event. If you plan to come in a non-Porsche you will need a ticket which can be provided FREE by contacting Ron Davis, our Concours Chair at concours . EuroSport DC – June 10^th, 2012

A Spirited Car Tour of European Marques

The third annual EuroSport Tour DC event, held on June 10th, 2012, will bring many of Europe’s famous marques together for a day of engine revving mischief through the back roads of Maryland and Virginia. The event will begin at Ferrari/Maserati of Washington (FOW) and includes a technical review of the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. The event’s invited marques include Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Maserati, Aston Martin, and Lotus.

New store is now open and has some really great merchandise. What is really nice is that not only can you have the Potomac logo on items, Porsche AG has also authorized us to add the PORSCHE logo. Rumble At The Oak Tree – Zone 2 Club Race

June 22, 23 & 24, 2012 – Virginia International Raceway

For those of you who are not going to Potomac’s Watkins Glen DE on this weekend, volunteers are needed to make sure that this is a safe and successful race weekend. Join your fellow Zone 2 members working in Timing and Scoring, Grid, Registration, DE and Tech. Get up close and experience the excitement of PCA Club Racing.

2012 DRIVER'S EDUCATION SCHEDULE

On March 30, 2012 we’ll usher in another exciting Driver’s Education season for Potomac, The Founder’s Region. Our 2012 schedule provides many opportunities for PCA drivers to improve their skills and enjoy the company of friends at the track. Our season will again include two High Performance Driving Clinics, our Advanced DE during Club Race at Summit Point and our regular DE schedule that includes events at Summit Point, Watkins Glen, Mid Ohio Sports Car Course and Virginia International Raceway. All Potomac track events are on weekends and the schedule includes a total of six 3-day weekend dates!

PCA License Plates for the District of Columbia

Many of our members who reside in Maryland show their support for PCA by displaying PCA license plates. Potomac member Howard Hill has now made arrangements with the District of Columbia to obtain PCA license plates. Displaying these tags is an easy, cost effective way to promote PCA while just driving around town. You would be surprised at how much attention these tags get among current as well as prospective members. It's a great way to stimulate interest in PCA and a nice conversation piece to help spread the word about the Region. Based on Howard's research, the Potomac Executive Board has decided to extend this option to our members who reside in The District of Columbia. Howard has graciously agreed to coordinate this effort. There is a one-time application fee of $56.00 (payable to DC) and an annual display fee of $26.00 (also payable to DC) for each set of tags. Please note that we will need at least 25 members to sign up in order to go forward with this project. If you would like to be among the first to display these tags in the District, please contact Howard Hill at howard.hill1@gmail.com. He will take care of the paperwork for you on a first-come, first-served basis. Howard can provide you a sample of the license plate that is very similar to the one issued by Maryland.
